Sport is about so much more than winning and losing. It’s about trying your best and pushing yourself further than you ever thought possible. It’s about people thriving when they work together, a sense of belonging and community and, of course, dedication. These are the key qualities that attracted TSB to the Pride of Sport Awards. Of course, like any awards ceremony, the event crowns winners. But the night – like sport – transcends triumph and is about something more profound.
“Being a good sportsperson doesn’t mean being number one,” explains Paul Pester, the CEO of TSB. “It means living and breathing the values of resilience, fair play and working together in partnership.
“The nominees at any Pride of Sport Awards embody these values to the core, alongside their physical skill and mental dedication. They are our country’s unsung sporting heroes, and TSB is proud to partner with the Pride of Sport Awards to celebrate them.”
TSB is all about people helping people so that we thrive together and reach our potential. That’s why it has partners on hand to communicate with customers in more than 600 branches across Britain. Paul adds: “For many, sport is about being the best, but for me it’s about bringing out the best in people. Not just on the football pitch, athletics track or swimming pool, but in the everyday, building a sense of infectious pride that spreads to teammates, families and the local community.
“Britain is a proud sporting nation and the Pride of Sport Awards shows that grassroots sport is thriving in communities right across the country. They are an inspiration to us all, and I hope you – like me – are immensely proud of the great work taking place.”
